Presenter: Carlee Kalyani Cohen

Experience hatha yoga sessions inspired by Anusara yoga that bring more space into your body and allow you to experience your full potential.  Proper alignment and breathing allows the body to integrate by providing stability in the joints, freedom of movement, and increased flexibility.  This practice focuses on toning muscle groups and safely stretching connective tissues, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of increased energy, health, and overall well being.  By getting in tune with your body, you will experience benefits ranging from increased concentration and relaxation to better performance in sports and all of your activities.  Do the things you never thought possible and go beyond self-imposed limitations.  You will be amazed at the results!

Carlee received her master’s degree from Columbia University Teachers College after studying Applied Behavior Analysis and autism spectrum disorder.   During this time she began practicing yoga primarily at Integral Yoga Institute in New York City.  Soon after, she received her 270-hour teaching certificate in Asana (postures) and Pranayama (breath work) through Integral Yoga under the direct supervision of Swami Ramananda (President, Integral Yoga New York City).  She is currently studying Anusara Yoga and is on her way to becoming a certified Anusara instructor.

In the meantime Carlee attended many workshops on various topics: Yoga for the Special Child, Hip Opening I & II, Meditation I &II, Everyday Sadhana (spiritual practice), Chakra Opening, Mantra (sacred sound) Repetition, Kirtan (chanting), Hatha as a Creative Source, Laughter Meditation, Dharma, Mudras (energy seals), Nutrition/Ayurveda, Ashtangha, Anusara, Science of Breathing, Anatomy, and Yoga for Golfers.  She has more than 3000 hours of experience teaching Hatha Yoga and is currently splitting her time teaching between the Blue Ridge Mountains and South Florida.

Yoga has many facets that contribute to a peaceful, happy, healthy life. Yoga has transformed my life on many levels, and my favorite thing is sharing this gift with others.”

Carlee has worked with children with disabilities and typical children in both private and group settings (Milagro Center), as well as volunteering for organizations such as Karmapalooza, Universal Lightworkers Association, Surfers for Autism, Yoga Day USA, and has appeared on Canadian Television.

She received the name Kalyani from Swami Ramananda, which represents the place inside of each of us that feels blessed, fortunate, and blissful.  Her wish is for all beings to feel this Bliss.
